Summer ESL Session provides an opportunity for international students to receive intensive English instruction in a small class setting.
The curricular areas covered are: Listening and Speaking, Grammar and Vocabulary, and Writing. This instruction is designed to prepare the student for participation in a full curriculum.
Listening and Speaking: ESL learners will have daily opportunities to increase their English listening and speaking skills as they interact with their teacher and classmates on a wide variety of topics, such as current events, summer activities, and American cultural holidays and events.
Grammar and Vocabulary: Students will complete work each week on grammar exercises tailored to their specific English proficiency level. New vocabulary words are introduced each week. Students practice these words for homework.
Writing: Students will complete writing exercises to practice the various aspects of written English, including spelling and punctuation. Our teacher will also provide strategies on how to improve English writing skills.
